Choosing Eyeliner
Many brands offer a variety of hues, textures and types of eyeliners; ideally suited for different situations, weather conditions, shape and color of the eyes. Eyes are quite delicate and need to be handled with care. Soft eyeliner pencils, liquid eyeliner, felt tip eyeliner that works like the liquid one and the cake eyeliners are the most common types available in the market. Pencils and felt tips must glide easily on the eyelid area and must not require pressure. Using eyeliner properly needs a lot of practice and a steady hand to avoid smudging it. Pencil and felt tip eyeliners are easier to control as you can use them like pens to sketch the desired look and define your eyes while liquid eyeliners need more practice just like using pointed brushes in painting and may smudge easily but they make better, brighter and clearer lines.

Eyeliner is one of the most important cosmetics, giving a dramatic look without much time or effort. Eyeliner makes your eyes pop out by defining them and accentuating their shape.

Whether you choose a soft line or a dramatic stroke, you can embellish the windows to your soul by spending just a few minutes in front of a mirror with an eyeliner pencil.
Eyeliner can make even the smallest eyes appear larger. Applying it correctly is key, you don't want the line to be too dark, harsh and obvious or you risk looking overdone. Here we share our favorite tried-but-true eyeliner tips and then give instruction on how to apply a basic eye, a smoky eye, a bold eye and a cat eye.
Liquid eyeliner
like cake eyeliner, is applied with a thin brush. It has many of the same advantages and disadvantages, but it is harder to apply than nearly any other type of eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner should only be applied to the top eyelids. It tends to be thicker than cake eyeliner, and takes longer to dry. That can be an irritation, since you really do need to keep your eyes closed until the eyeliner is completely dry to avoid smudging and raccoon eyes.
Sometimes, eyeliner looks too sharp or harsh for our taste, especially when we are try to achieve smoky eye effect. In such a case, you can soften it by dusting a powder shadow of similar shade on your eyeliner using the eye shadow brush. Eyeliner plays a great role in creating optical illusions to give a new shape and size to your eyes. Gray, black and brown liners can be used to line outer third of upper lids of the close set eyes and then smudged gently. Liner of a lighter shade should be used at the inner side of the eye to add the look of the width between eyes. Small eyes can be opened up by lining them with a dark shade that thickens at the outer edge of the eye. Under lower lash, line with a very light shade such as gold, silver and white. Deep-set eyes can be controlled by lining the upper lash line with pale shade that shimmers while the outer edge of the lower lash should be lined with soft and neutral colors such as gray or taupe.

 Choosing Eyeshadows
Eyeshadows add a depth to the eyes of a woman and its right application can make the eyes look smaller, bigger, set closely together or set apart. All we need is to choose the right color and shade and know how to apply it perfectly. The shape of your eyes, the brow bone and shape of your eyebrows, your eyelid and the corner of your eyes all play a role in the right application of the eyeshadow. A pearly eyeshadow needs a sponge applicator to avoid flaking while a shading brush is of great help when it comes to blend in the colors of the eyeshadows. Liquid eyeshadows are sheer and double up as a highlighter for face, body and eyes. They add shimmering to the eye makeup and also serve as the base to help other eyeshadows layered on them to set and give depth to them.
